Manga Upscaler is designed for manga panels, anime art, webtoon frames, and comic images. It can improve resolution and perceived detail, but it cannot recover every original line or letter from a damaged source.

Upscale an image

  1. Open Manga Upscaler.
  2. Upload a JPG, PNG, or WebP image accepted by the tool.
  3. Review the displayed credit cost and any available settings.
  4. Start the upscale once.
  5. Compare the original and result at the same zoom level.
  6. Download the final PNG when the result passes review.

Inspect these details

  • thin ink lines and panel borders;
  • screentone and hatching patterns;
  • flat-color boundaries and cel shading;
  • eyes, hands, and small accessories;
  • speech-bubble outlines and lettering;
  • compression noise, halos, invented texture, or over-sharpening.

If the result looks artificial

Use the cleanest source available and avoid repeatedly upscaling an already upscaled result. For text, keep an editable text layer or replace the lettering after upscale. If the source is very small, blurry, or heavily compressed, the model may invent detail rather than restore the original.

Verify the downloaded pixel dimensions and compare at the intended print or screen size before replacing the source file.
