Tips for writing scripts that generate better storyboards
Screenplay Best Practices
To get the best visual results from Storyboard AI, follow these writing tips.
Be Visual
- Show, Don't Tell: Instead of "He feels sad," write "He slumps his shoulders and sighs." The AI can visualize physical actions better than internal emotions.
- Descriptive Action: detailed descriptions of the environment and lighting help set the scene.
Keep it Concise
- One Idea per Shot: Try to limit action blocks to what can be seen in a few seconds. Long paragraphs might need to be broken down into multiple shots manually later.
Consistent Naming
- Use the exact same name for characters as defined in your Character Library. "John" and "Johnny" might be treated as two different people by the AI.
Avoid "We See"
- Just describe the object or action. "A red car speeds by" is better than "We see a red car speed by."
