Understanding the terminology used in Storyboard AI will help you navigate the platform more effectively.
Core Concepts
- Artwork: The top-level project container in Storyboard AI. Each Artwork represents a distinct storyboard project.
- Screenplay: The script of your story, formatted to industry standards.
- Scene: A unit of action that takes place in a specific location and time.
- Shot: A single continuous view or frame within a scene.
- Panel: A visual representation of a shot.
Visual Elements
- Animatic: A video sequence created by stitching together the storyboard panels, often with sound, to visualize timing and pacing.
- Board: The visual grid where all your shots are displayed.
- Version: A specific iteration of a generated image or video for a shot. You can have multiple versions and select the active one.
AI & Generation
- Prompt: The text description used by the AI to generate images or text.
- Negative Prompt: Text specifying what not to include in the generated image.
- Seed: A number used to initialize the random number generator for AI models. Using the same seed with the same settings will produce the same result.
- Consistency: The ability of the AI to keep characters and styles uniform across different shots.
Statuses
- Pending: The task is queued and waiting to start.
- Running: The AI is currently processing the task.
- Completed: The task finished successfully.
- Failed: The task encountered an error.
