Character Consistency

Ensuring characters look the same in every shot

Character Consistency

One of the main challenges in AI art is consistency. Storyboard AI uses advanced techniques to mitigate this.

How it Works

When you create a character, the system essentially "learns" their face and key features. When generating a shot, it injects this knowledge into the image generation process.

Tips for Better Consistency

  1. Distinct Features: Give characters unique traits (e.g., "green glasses," "scar on left cheek").
  2. Stable Clothing: Unless the story requires a costume change, describe their outfit in the character profile. The AI tends to default to the reference image's clothing.
  3. Avoid Generic Names: Use unique names to prevent the AI from pulling in external biases (e.g., naming a character "Spider-Man" will definitely result in the superhero).

Troubleshooting

If a character looks wrong in a specific shot:

  • Redraw: Sometimes it's just a random glitch.
  • Adjust Prompt: Manually edit the shot prompt to reinforce a feature (e.g., add "wearing blue robes" if it forgot).
